THERAPY SERVICES

I’m a bilingual therapist who grew up in foster care and specializes working with those impacted by foster care and adoption. If you’ve felt like therapy wasn’t built for someone like you—I get it. I’ve been there. Feeling misunderstood, judged, or unseen can make it hard to open up, but you don't have to keep carrying it alone. In therapy, there's room for all of who you are, your story, your struggles, and your strength. This is a space to lay some of that weight down and begin healing, at your pace. I'm here to support you every step of the way.

Areas of Specialization

I specialize in:

  • Depression, anger, anxiety, trauma
  • Foster care & adoption support
  • Parent/child relational struggles
  • LGBTQ+ identity support
  • Self-esteem

Professional Background & Experience

I am also an researcher, speaker, and advocate. Throughout my career in education and administration, I have worked with diverse and marginalized communities—including foster, homeless, and probation youth; LGBTQ+ and youth of color; immigrants; and undocumented people. I hold two Associate degrees: an A.S. in Criminal Justice and an A.A. in Social and Behavioral Sciences. I earned my Bachelor's in Sociology from the University of California, Riverside, and my Master's in Clinical Social Work from Smith College, which allows me to provide effective mental health services to those who need them.

I have extensive knowledge and experience on issues related to self-esteem, anger, anxiety, depression, parent/child relational struggles, life transitions, relationships, family dynamics, foster care & adoption, immigration, incarceration, LGBTQ+ identity, self-identity, early childhood trauma, career and personal development, and school-related challenges (middle school, high school, university).

I have practiced therapy with teenagers and adults. I also worked in the counseling department at Los Angeles Pierce College seven years ago under the supervision of a counselor and the dean. At Pierce College, I served as a Career and Guidance Counselor Assistant for the Cooperating Agencies Foster Youth Educational Support (CAFYES). In this role, I supported current and former foster youth in achieving their educational goals and transferring to four-year universities.

In addition to this experience, I have worked and/or partnered with educational institutions, nonprofits, and government entities.

Approach

I take an empathetic approach to working with clients, keeping in mind their unique backgrounds and needs. I strongly believe that you are the expert on your experience, and I am here to listen, guide, and support you on your journey.

I have a relational, intersectional, and social justice approach when working with others. If you're looking for a therapist near me who understands the unique experiences of immigrants, LGBTQ+, foster youth & adoption, men's issues, women's issues, and trauma survivors—I am here to support you. I have a deep understanding of the social challenges many people encounter. I am an advocate in the U.S. and internationally. I have years of experience working with communities from different backgrounds. As a Spanish speaking therapist in Los Angeles, my goal is to provide affordable services to monolingual Spanish-speaking individuals. Working with a therapist near me could be convenient for clients who want to meet in person. I provide therapy services in person, but I also meet with clients online in the state of California only.
