Projects in Latin America
Defying Labels has several projects in Latin America, including mobilizing resources for children, women, and the LGBT community. Patty has visited orphanages and rural areas to support children and women who have been victims of violence. Defying Labels also collaborate with activists, psychologists, attorneys, and researchers in Latin America.
Activism
Defying Labels does activism in Latin America and is affiliated with the largest feminist coalition in Latin America. Together, Defying Labels and multiple NGOs in Latin America collaborate to address issues of oppression and violence towards children, women, LGBT, and our indigenous communities.
Education & Research
Patty collaborates with educators and researchers in Latin America to find interventions to best support our communities in Latin America. Together, Patty and researchers in Latin America have facilitated workshops and conversatorios to address social issues in Latin America.
Mobilization of Resources for LGBTQ+
Mobilization of Resources for LGBTQ+ Defying Labels has mobilized resources for the LGBT community in Latin America, including gender affirming items. Defying Labels also fundraises for marginalized communities in Latin America.
Orphanages and Children
With the help of local activists, attorneys, and psychologists, Patty has visited rural areas and orphanages in Latin America to provide resources and support to children and youth who have been victims of violence or live in poverty.
